same with me - 2 years (Rating: 2.00) Review : Got exactly two seasons out of my 150R. Battery didn't keep the charge after the second winter. I even totally drained it last fall before leaving it in its charger all winter. Reminds me of an inkjet printer - decent price, until the consumables kill ya. It worked for me --- 150R (Rating: 5.00) Review : I bought the 150R in Oct 99 for my dad and then I bought a house the year after so he gave the 150R back to me and have not had any toruble with it till May 2004 when the trimmimg head broke off from the shaft. I will buy the 155R and see how it works out but I got my moneys worth on the 150R Convienent but ... (Rating: 3.00) Review : Very convienent to have two tools in one, but battery life is not great. Can not really do all my trimming with this product and my yard is only about 100x200. Have to trim, then recharge while mowing, then finish trimming. Not the best way to do it, but workable. In process of ordering a new battery after two years as the charge is lasting for a shorter and shorter time. Light and easy to use, but battery life? (Rating: 4.00) Review : Got the 10" unit because it's very light and easy to use/store - the (older) kids can use it. Good quality tool, non-polluting, much quieter than gas. Worked flawlessly in light duty for 2 years. I always keep it on the charger BUT last week the battery died suddenly. This trimmer replaced a Ryobi 12" whose battery died in 2 years also, but not before ruining many shirts and pants with acid holes (took me awhile to figure out what was causing them!). My husband liked the more powerful 12" (grunt grunt) but not the holes. I'm disappointed with a 2-year-life, hard to find, throw away...battery, but the things are great otherwise. 150r vs 155r ... they're not the same (Rating: 4.00) Review : I first saw the 155r at Home Depot. The idea of going cordless and gasless is appealing but I found that holding the 155r in "edging" position was tough on the wrist. The battery weights the machine such that it wants to rotate back to "trimmer" position. I also found the inside of the handle on the 155r to have a rough edge that would surely irritate my hand. I was surprised when I found a 150r model at Orchard Supply and the machine feels much different than the 155r. The 150r is much easier to hold in "edging" position and the handle was smooth with no obtrusive edges. I have not tried either of these machines outside of the store. So I can only comment on my thoughts seeing them in the store. |
