EXCELLENT! (Rating: )
Review : I echo what everyone's said here. This little speaker set is great! <br />

good sound could be great, plus one problem (Rating: 4.00)
Review : i am replacing my cambridge speakers with this little compact unit. the inmotion sounds adequate for its size but if you're a bass junkie like me you have to have more bass. just to experiment i plugged the jack from the (cambridge) sub into the headphone jack of the ipod and voila, nice tight bass, controlled by the ipod volume, and speaker volume controlled by the inmotion panel. if you have a small sub already, you're set, otherwise add the price of a computer size sub to use with this set. i set the ipod to "treble boost" since i have the sub hooked up. the sound is wonderfully rich and you won't complain because you have highs and lows, perfect for the office!
just remember when travelling around with it, you're back to so so sound, but for something this size, it's great.

here is the downside i've found so far. plugging into the back dock, the ipod says "do not disconnect" and the ipod never mounts.
i'm using a windows machine configured to work with mac ipods
and the ipod works when plugged directly with the computer but
via the inmotion it just doesn't work. hoping to get help on this. even if i can't get it to work that way i'll still keep the "inmotion".

Portability makes these a "must-have" (Rating: 5.00)
Review : After weighing all the options for small speaker options for the iPod, I decided on this system. Why?
1) SIZE: Yes, other systems that are slightly bigger probably have better sound, but with the folding feature and carry bag that comes with this system, it's unbeatable.
2) PORTABILITY: Closely linked with size, but with other key factors: Battery use and lack of parts. It uses 4 AA batteries and if you don't take along the power cord, it's one small piece when folded. That's it. You're gone.
3) EASE OF USE: With the built in iPod dock that lets you charge while listening, it is just too easy. But that's not all! You can connect to your PC via the system's base and do all the normal functions. But wait, there's more! Since the iPod is docked it leaves the headphone jack open. If you happen to have the iTrip (or other FM transmitter), you can use this jack and transmit to other speaker options using FM. This is useful in situations where others might want to share your collection (e.g. the beach). Then you and others can listen.
4) THE COOL FACTOR: I'm not sure how to put a price on this one, but I paid $109 and the cool factor is probably worth $75 of that. It just looks cool, and since it is clearly made for the iPod, gawkers know it's probably the latest thing.
Since it's so easy and sounds so good, I've taken to moving the speakers to wherever I am in the house instead of having the home PC play through the home speakers throughout the whole house. We're not talking earth shattering sound here, but for one/two room or office use - these are excellent.

Pretty good product overall (Rating: 4.00)
Review : Are you the frequent traveller who likes setting up a small stereo in your hotel room, and not relegate yourself to uncomfortable headphones???

With all the speakers out there, I would have to say that, with regards to the iPod, this pair of speakers is the best!

1. Portability

---- The speakers fold up real nicely and are VERY easy to pack in your carry-on..... I've often had trouble placing speakers in my bags, but these ones fold into a flat surface, which makes it very easy to stick into any little crevice

2. Loudness

---- Some small speakers never quite get loud enough --- while these speakers aren't like a THX sound auditorium, they do produce a pretty loud beat! You'll be putting the volume down more often then turning it up

3. Clarity

---- Like I said, this isn't the perfect clarity, but for the price, the speakers really get the job done....... Very clear and they sound great -- I highly recommend putting your iPod on VOCAL BOOSTER for great sound on this speaker set

4. iPod connection

---- Its so cool how the iPod connects to this thing.... Unless you have the 1/2nd generation iPod (which also works with this system), then the simply put your iPod into the dock and connect no other wires! it plays from there....... unless you use AA batteries, then you will have to plug the AC adapter into the speakers, which is fine, because then the iPod will charge as it sits in the dock

isn't that awesome! you can finally listen to your iPod continuously without having to worry that it'll run outta battery power

so overall, this is a device that you can't live without if you're an iPod lover

great sound, great portability, and great charging

BUY YOURS NOW!!!!

Never mind the naysayers... these are swell! (Rating: 5.00)
Review : These are really great speakers for the size. Those expecting room blasting sound are looking at the wrong type of sound projection devices. Sure you'll have warped sound if you jack up the sound to max... why would anybody want to do that anyway? For your desk, your room, play or work space at reasonable sound level, these are darn incredible. Hey, I paid $149 for being an Early Adopter gadget freak! For what Amazon is charging, these are a super deal. No bigger than the size of a book, lighter than a book, you unfold it, plug it in (or use AA batteries), plop in your Rev 1 or Rev 2 iPod and you'll be amazed at the quality of sound and bass. Noting the convenience, wow and cool factor, all you iPod owners should have one!

Nothing better than JBL Invader! (Rating: 5.00)
Review : When I first saw these on the JBL website I thought they looked cool but had no idea about the sound.
I ordered them from Amazon.com because they were priced a lot lower, and I received them 5 days earlier than expected. I was so excited!
I got them for my Apple Power Mac G5 and they look great next to that beautiful computer, but they would look good next to any computer.
One of the first songs I played was "Faint" by Linkin Park and the sounds were incredible. The song had a lot of bass, which the JBL Invader really brought out, and the song also had some trebble parts which it also played great. There was not any distortion of sound at all when the volume was turned up, and it kept really good levels. The subwoofer really makes a difference and the surround sound is just amazing, how realistic it sounds. These would be great for watching a DVD movie on your computer.

Conclusion is that the JBL Invader is a great set of speakers for almost any use, they can also be used as a 2.1 speaker system so you can save room and cable clutter if you don't need all 4 speakers. They have a beautiful design and JBL has really hit it's mark with the Invader.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE (Rating: 1.00)
Review : I bought these speakers for my wife as a Christmas present .

My wife is a art director and has considerable knowledge with the Mac OS and networking. She installed the speakers on Christmas morning and immediately RAVED about the sound quality. I have no problems with the sound quality or outward appearance of this speaker system.

OUR problem is customer service. This is the first electronic purchase for which we have had a problem--ever. AND WE CAN'T GET SOMEONE TO RESPOND.!!!

The subwoofer part of the system that also serves as the base (brain) overheated last weekend ( it is less than 2 months old) --after just 4 hours of continuious use. The sound was not overly loud nor were the trebble or base controls set above a normal level. The system now no longer functions. My wife has barely had the chance to enjoy the speakers because she works so much.

Herein lies the problem-- we have repeatedly tried to contact the company by email and support phone number for service. A company as large as Harman and JBL does not have an automated support line nor do they appear to have the ability to allow you to stay on hold while "they assist" other customers. Your only option is to leave a phone message which I have now done 4 times in the past 3 days. I have called numerous other times without leaving a message in an attempt to get a "real" person.

Additionally, My wife has emailed the support line with all of OS and situation specifics several times without an acknowledgement.

NO ONE has contacted us.

I ordered the system from APPLE since I was ordering other Apple products. I am sorry I did not purchace from Amazon since it looks like it would have been 40.00 less.

We are both VERY disappointed.

No customer service (Rating: 1.00)
Review : The speakers stopped working after 4 months and then the customer service was terrible. I couldn't get a hold of anyone. Don't buy unless you want your speakers to break and then not have anyone help you!

Great Piece of Equiptment (Rating: 5.00)
Review : If someone wants to get a good low priced surround sound speaker system the invaders are your best bet. They are stylish at the same time emmit great sound. It is enjoyable made to look different from other speakers and its sub is powerful. Look into it, BestBuy does not carry it anymore so her is a good price for the speakers.
