future of finish guns (Rating: 5.00)
Review : Excellent tool, very handy could almost use as a production nailer...There is a slight pause, about 1/4 of a second from trigger being pressed, til nail fires. Incredibly nice not to have to rollout a compressor. Probably the most under rated tool at Amazon.com. Slight drawback is that it would not set a 2 1/2 inch nail fully in oak with a half inch still exposed, but believe the af25 will probably do the trick. For attaching 1 inch or less hardwoods, the gun works flawlessly and extrordinarily convenient to grab and attach casing, base, or crown, . I am a production finish carpenter and believe the gun is almost perfect besides the nail set problem in 1 1/2 inch or better hardwood stock You will use it for many different applications that you can't begin to realize until you reach into your job box and begin nailing within seconds and can put it back without a big production of rolling out and rolling up a heavy compressor and a 100 feet of hose. I have not used my air nailer in two months since buying the af 41. To make this gun a little more interesting I called senco and spoke with one of their technicians about the gun, as it seemed a little spendy and I didn't want it to become obsolete in six months or a year. I was told that the founder of senco, over ten years ago invented and patented the firing mechanism and only recently was the battery technology able to run it smoothly without too much weight. The af25 comes with a 12 volt instead of 14.4 volt like the af41, so if you want to buy both with the same interchangeable battery senco says they're coming out with a 14.4 volt 18 gauge brad nailer some time in the summer and I'm going to try and hold out til then to get the new version of the af 25. The gun is balanced well, easy to use, lighter than a framing gun, and something that shouldn't matter, but does, is it is the slickest looking finish gun I have ever saw, some overtime when into the aerodynamics of the gun, and the fact that there isn't a cord attached makes this gun almost irresistible, Hope senco designs the new af25 with comparable looks to the af 41... very trick.. Highly recommend.

good Idea poor product (Rating: 1.00)
Review : I went through 5 of these guns and all failed. Luckily home depot took them all back. I spoke with a senco distributor who told me he sold 200 of these guns and had 180 returned. He said senco sent him some prototypes to try that all failed. He told senco that the gun wasn't ready for market, but they brought them out any way. I use senco air powered nail guns on a daily basis with tremendous satisfaction, but this gun is a loser.

Very nice gun. (Rating: 5.00)
Review : I have owned this gun about a year now and it has been wonderful.
I have a SFN40 air gun which is very nice also but since I bought the AF41 I have not bothered to get the air gun out of the van. Both guns sit side by side and I always grab the AF41. I have never had a miss fire or a nail fail to set all the way. I don't work with 2" oak either. I can't imagine how Senco could improve this gun. I had paslodes in the past but the battery always was dead when I went to use it and they dont smell very good when used indoors.

I Love this nail gun (Rating: 5.00)
Review : I got mine at Christmas and have used it for about 3000 nails. All nails were 2 1/2 inch driven into pine, fir and oak. I have never had a problem or a jam. I have an 18 guage nailer and a framing nailer but I use the Senco now rather than these whenever possible because the Senco AF41 is cordless and easy to use.

I have been using it primarily for crown molding (1200 feet installed with the gun)and door jam nailing. The cordless operation is very nice for nailing molding. On a step ladder you can hold the molding with one hand and nail with this cordless gun in the other.

I did not know how handy this tool would be when I bought it but it is now one of my favorite tools.

okay til it breaks...and it will (Rating: 2.00)
Review : This gun is one of those products that you'll wonder how you ever did without until.....it eventually breaks down. And it's guaranteed that it will. I had the Air Free 41, along with the cordless brad nailer, and I was as happy as a clam with both of them. That is until they both eventually broke. The brad nailer broke on me 5 times and the finish nailer twice. Fortunately the HDepot carried them so I just returned them for a new one each time. Unfortunately, they no longer carry these items for reasons I can only guess might be that they were filling containers full of broken guns for return to Senco.

If you aren't going to use these guns for your livelyhood, then by all means get one. Make sure you have a backup compressor and gun just in case. By the way, Senco in south FL is no longer fixing these guns. The Dewalt rep will be happy to accomodate your repair for approximately half the cost of a new gun. What a bargain.
