Love it (Rating: ) Review : I originally bought the Melitta and although I tried and tried, I just couldn't drink the coffee. Also I never got a full cup. Switched to the Home Cafe and think it's great. Folgers and Millstone coffee is much, much better. It does not leak. It could be a tiny bit hotter. I typically use the 14 oz side with 2 pods and it's just enough for the trip to work in the morning -- fills a regular travel mug right to the top. Put a medium sized measuring cup under it and pour it into a travel mug if the mug doesn't fit. Some splash, but nothing a quick wipe of the counter doesn't fix (always have to wipe the counter in the morning anyway). Ok machine (Rating: ) Review : But not the best. I'm currently on unit number two. My first unit lasted all but about two weeks before the explosion. No really, a pod exploded in the unit. Was making a cup of coffee after dinner, correcting my childs homework at the counter when POP! Coffee grounds on me, my child, his homework, the counters, walls, ceiling, floor....you get the idea. I was not pleased, emailed the company and asked how the heck they explained that one. <br /> TRY THE JUAN VALDEZ MAKER (Rating: 1.00) Review : Target had the Juan Valdez pod maker by Salton. It was on sale and I LOVE IT! It is sturdy and the reservior holds 3-5 servings, depending if you want 5 oz or 10 oz serving. Second time a charm (Rating: 4.00) Review : I'm currently on my second Home Cafe, and it is the easiest coffee maker I've owned to date. Granted, the first one I got didn't close properly (which seems to be a wide spread problem with this machine). However, we returned that one, got a new one, and it works like a charm. No leaks, not overly noisy, and I can fit my travel mug under the pour spout. The only problem I am currently having is finding the coffee pods, as my local grocery store doesn't have it. **Turned itself on and caught on fire** (Rating: 1.00) Review : This product is a nightmare. I had my Home Cafe for about 1 month, and used it about 12 times. I was happy with it until one afternoon it turned itself on and began to spew out smoke. I had to run the unit outside and pour water on it to stop it from burning up. I'm sure glad I was home when this happened. If you have this product use it with caution and unplug it immediately when done. I returned this unit and purchased a Senseo instead. Much happier with the Senseo. |
