Wanda (Rating: 5.00) Review : I purchased a similar 5-pot set of LeCreuset pots 24 years ago and am still using them. I use them everyday. The inside of the ones I use the most is beginning to show signs of wear; however, they have really been used! I am in the market now for a 5 1/2 quart dutch oven, because my family has outgrown the 4-quart one that came with my set. Of course, I am only considering LeCreuset. You will only purchase these products once. The products ability to retain heat and simmer stocks, soups and sauces are unparalleled. From the first time I cooked a roast in a 2 quart dutch oven I noticed a difference in the depth and body of the food flavors, as did my guests. The cookware is easy to care for; it is industrial strength. The colors are great and add to their charm; all users seem to have their favorites.I have 2 criticisms fo the cookware: the weight of the pieces (not for the weak) and the lack of cool-touch handles. more than a pretty color (Rating: 5.00) Review : WHEN I WAS FIVE I REMEMBER THE "PRETTY RED" POT, ON MY NEIGHBORS STOVE. SOMETHING GREAT WAS USUALLY SIMMERING, A POT ROAST OR STEW. I KNEW OF NO OTHER FAMILY WITH SUCH A COOKING POT! THROUGHOUT THE YEARS I HAD SENTIMENTAL MEMORIES EVERYTIME I SAW A "PRETTY RED" POT. FINALLY, I LEARNED IT HAD A NAME...LE CREUSET. I WAS NOT ABLE TO BUY ONE EARLY ON BECAUSE I SIMPLY COULDN'T AFFORD IT. I JUST HAD MY "55TH" BIRTHDAY, AND GUESS WHAT I GAVE MYSELF; NUMBERS 22 AND 30 PANS. "RED". I HAVE MADE THE MOST LUCIOUS LAMB SHANKS, BURGUNDY BEEF, BEAN SOUP, MINESTRONE,CHICKEN MARSALA AND BRISKET. COOKING WITH LE CREUSET IS A DELIGHT, AND WORTH WAITING 50 YEARS. THE ONLY THING ON MY CHRISTMAS WISH LIST IS THE LE CREUSET 6 PIECE CLASSICS. RED OF COURSE. |
