AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME (Rating: 5.00)
Review : The style of a classic tank watch holds much appeal for me as it can be worn for all occasions. It looks both sophisticated and feminine. This particular watch has an easy to read dial with a date window. A leather strap enhances the overall look. Time does march on, and this is a great way to keep up with it!

Beautiful, but... (Rating: 3.00)
Review : I love this modernized version of the classic Cartier-tank style watch, but a HUGE word of caution. I've had this watch almost 2 years. For some reason, the design of the casing seems to be fundamentally flawed. It does not come off, but dust and debris DOES get inside very easily--causing the face to look quite dirty. I'd have to try to take the whole watch apart just to clean it (and risk ruining it), as it's unwearable in its current state. I don't know if I just got the 'bad-apple', so to speak, or if it's a problem with the design. Otherwise, the watch has lasted and worn well--the strap is good quality, as is the metal of the face. It's only needed battery replacement once. ***FYI***: Target also sells a a Gloria Vanderbilt watch of the same style, but slimmer (more in keeping with Cartier's $10,000 design). You can get it (as of late-Sept 2004) in Target stores, and it seems to be of just as good quality--but no dirty facing (so far)!
