Review : This movie was about boys being sold into slavery by their families and, along the way, they encounter some abuse at the hands of their owners mostly for theft and as a result of the long week spent in the sulfur mines, sex among the males during the week was not uncommon and the boys seemed at times to be easily coherced by receiving time off for their good behavior. Acla, of course, had a different objective.

Review : Well acted story though I was thrown off at times wondering what some parts have to do with the plot. I also wouldn't call his service at the mines Slavery. We talking 1930's Italy. No child labor laws yet. There weren't any signs of sex with the exception on the older males weekends with thier wifes or prostitues. There was talk of sexual activity between men and boys but most was talk and non was forced. No still means no. There was a lot of physical abuse. Its a good film overall.
