Good but loud (Rating: 4.00) Review : I really like the performance of the BSV800 but the one thing I don't like is the noise. It's got the 14hp B&S Vanguard engine (very good engine) but it sounds like a Mac truck. I've been looking to get a motorcycle muffler for the thing... Performance wise it's great - I've got a 3200 sf house and it easily runs the well pump, furnace blower, fridge, furnace exhaust blower and some room circuits. It wants to be a Honda, it thinks it's a Honda, but... (Rating: 1.00) Review : I chose this one over a similar one made by Honda Power Equipment. I chose it because of cost but I found that you get what you pay for... Out of the box, it produced only 98 volts (I am waiting on an answer from P-C on that one). I was disappointed to find that there is no voltage regulator and no GFCI. It is pretty loud, but that is to be expected. I am spending the extra $1000 for a Honda Power Equipment generator. In my opinion, the lower price of P-C generators is a false savings. How much will it cost you if you fry your equipment with improper voltage - or even worse - your crew on a rainy day? I am very disappointed and I am either returning mine or selling it. Shame on P-C. |
