How do you like them apples? (Rating: 0.00)
Review : A friend had brought this over for our New Year's Eve celebration this year and we had a blast playing Apples to Apples. First, it's very simple to learn, and we were playing in less than five minutes. Depending on the number of people playing, the rules change slightly, but the fun doesn't. There are a large number of red cards, and each player gets like seven of these. Then, one player gets to play the judge, and has to sit out that round. The role of the judge rotates, so each player gets a turn. Once the players get their seven red cards, the judge picks a green card, which has a descriptor on it. He/she reads the card aloud, and the other players try to match the descriptor read by the judge to match a card in their hand. The green cards list objects, people, or places, and each player must try to find the best match to one of their cards and put that card face down. If playing with five players or less, once the number of cards down matches the number of players, i.e. four players and one judge, then once four cards are down, the submission part of that round is over. Now, in this case, a player may put down two cards, and eliminate another player from putting down a card. With six or more players, the rule is a little different. Each player can only submit one card, but the number of cards required to end the submission part of the round is one less then the number of players, i.e. with six players (five players and one judge) then once four cards are put face down in the pile, that's it, so one person will not get to submit. Once the cards are down, the judge begins to turn over the cards, one by one, and the judge has ultimate say over which card they feel best suits the descriptor card the judge picked at the beginning of the round. Discussion is allowed amongst the group, and people can make a case for their card, or whichever card they feel best suits the descriptor. Once the judge makes his/her final decision, the player who submitted the winning card gets the green apple card. The player who collects seven of these cards wins the game. Once people get comfortable with the play of the game, things do get fast and furious, and a lot of times the submissions get very funny. A funny submission can win, as the judge gets to pick in the end. A great, easy to learn game that encourages creativity, thinking, and fun.

Review : I played this game with my husband, neice and brother and sister in law and I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had. we played game after game for a whole weekend. I can't wait to go back to visit and hope to have as much fun as we did then. you gotta have this game.

Excellent Game for the Entire Family!! (Rating: 0.00)
Review : I played this for the first time several weeks ago with three very bored teenagers and another adult. We ended up having so much fun I went out and ordered my own set and took it with me to a dinner part the following week. The four adults had nearly as much fun as the teenagers.

I highly recomend this game for adults and teenagers. Some of the words the younger children might not know but they could certainly play on teams.

This weekend will be a youth trip with 8 kids in an SUV for 5 hours each way. I'll be depending heavily upon this game to see us through!

What fun for everyone! (Rating: 0.00)
Review : New Year's Eve - we get together with friends that have kids, too. We eat, play board games, watch TV, play board games, talk, eat and play board games! This year Apples-to-Apples was the hit! We played with an 8, 12, 15 year old and a bunch of adults. It's funny, witty, fast moving. You have cards that are totally random, like: chewing gum, Bill Clinton, volcanos, etc. and the person that is 'It' pulls a different kind of card and calls out what he is trying to match, like "dangerous" and each person puts down the card that most fits....so in this case, volcano (but some smart-alec would put Bill Clinton and we would all howl)!! Seems so simple, and it is...8 year old played with his Dad helping him with a few words... games not not really about winning...just laughing and thinking of comparisons. Interesting to see how different minds work! Get it and chortle!
