Fast paced and loads of fun! (Rating: 0.00) Review : I have a large game collection and I added this game just a few weeks ago. It's a cross between Yatzee and Tic-Tac-Toe. Luck is definitely the name of the game! When we play, we play for high stakes (you know...the penny jackpot!). People have been playing "Craps" for a long time, but I never truly understood how addictive lady luck really was. Each player starts off with 9 pawns. During a turn, a player rolls the black/white die and places one of their 9 pieces on the board (truly a little bit tricky). As players take turns, the board becomes crowded with pieces. It is amazing how difficult it is to get 3 of your pieces in either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row. The catch is that if you roll the die and you duplicate your move, you must take every single one of your pawns off the board and start over again - it is called JINX (an appropriate name). So you end up having no pieces on the board when your opponents are well along in attempting the 3 in a row. However, do not dispair, your opponents end up JINXING themselves a good number of times. The other key aspect of the game is that if an opponent lands on your pawn they take your spot and give you back your pawn. The complexion of the board changes so many times during a round of the game that everybody gets the feeling they are just about to win the game when - dastardly - JINX. They have to start all over again. This is my new favorite party game! A Great Game for everyone (Rating: 0.00) Review : Jinx was one of those rare finds where everybody playing was having a blast. The game moves so quickly that it kept everyone on their toes. Watch out --- you might be JINXED -- so pay attention and role the dice! The best fun. (Rating: 5.00) Review : I really like this game because I can play with my younger sister who is 8 and my parents who are much older and everbody has lots of fun. My younger sister learns how to place the pieces on the board and it can be pretty tricky. When someone gets jinxed we all yell jinx and that person has to start all over again when the rest of us don't. I especially like when I land on my mom's piece and she has to remove her game piece and I take her spot. Jinx is so much fun to play. Calling Lady Luck (Rating: 5.00) Review : Fun to look at on the outside, and fun to play on the inside. For the uninitiated, here's the scoop: JINX is a by-word for 'I am in trouble now'. So do what you can to get Lady Luck on your side. Wear your lucky socks, grab your lucky charm, and kiss the dice before every roll. Just don't expect much sympathy from others if you do get JINXED - believe me, it can get pretty heated at times!!!! I love games of chance, and this one takes the cake. Suspense is always in the air. Just a game? Yeah right! Great way to spend the evening. (Rating: 5.00) Review : This game is addictive. I always appreciate the Amazon.com editorial review - it always tells the truth. Like the Amazon.com review says - it has less to do with left/right brain and more to do with left/right handness. Games of pure luck are relaxing fun. Our kids always want to play and it is certainly nice to have them occupied for so many hours rolling the dice. The great thing with this game is that everybody is on an even playing field - the kids have just as much a chance to win as the adults. We started to play with pennies which has made it ever more intriguing. We highly recommend this game. The Amazon.com review got it straight on! Described in one word - fun! |
