For anyone who really cares about dental hygeine or even just the way they look to other people, you can't not use an electric toothbrush anymore. I laughed at the idea at first, but once I began using one I will never be able to use a regular toothbrush again without feeling like my mouth isn't clean. When you go to the dentist--what type of toothbrush does he/she use on you? Electric--for a reason, because it cleans better.

The marginally higher cost of replacing the heads rather than buying an entirely new disposable toothbrush is insignificant when you actually feel as clean as you can when you use an electric brush. Personal dental care has evolved to the next step, and you don't want to be caught be the last person using a slide ruler because you were too frugal to purchase the more expensive but more effective calculator.

Your teeth (and anyone who comes in contact with them) will thank you.

Beautiful machine, but tickles mercilessly at first (Rating: 5.00)
Review : I'm an engineer, and this may be the most beautiful machine I've ever seen. The handle is permanently, hermetically sealed. The head has what appear to be magnets at the end of some good-sized struts, and apparently the electronics generate an oscillating magnetic field right through the plastic to shake them. But we're not talking wimpy here. I disabled the gradual start feature (they tell you how!) to see what I was getting into, and you've got to do this just right or the tickling of your lips will be unbearable. I think I'm getting the hang of it, and I rather like the brushing action. Anyway, charging is apparently also by transformer action right through the plastic. Just a fabulous design. And the timer function sounds as though it would be infuriating, but it turns out to be useful; just don't take it so seriously. One caution, though: As I recall, when I stopped brushing long ago and got 9 cavities, several were on the chewing surfaces, so best to hit those too.

[Months later] The tickling is strictly a temporary problem. It hasn't been happening at all for a long time. This is a very nice product. And were you wondering how it beeps? Well, there's enough of a sounding board in it that the vibration makes sound waves, so some genius figured, hey, just switch to a much higher vibration rate of the main mechanism, and that's a beep. All still hermetically sealed.

Best toothbrush I've ever used! (Rating: 5.00)
Review : There may be other electric toothbrushes out there that are "better" than the Sonicare Elite but I will say, with no reservations, that this is the absolute best toothbrush I have ever used. I thought those simple little rotary toothbrushes were pretty nifty when they came out but they were not truly up to the challenge of getting my teeth really clean and stain-free. Based on positive reviews and a tempting Gold Box offer, I gave the Sonicare Elite a chance. The best dental investment I have ever made! Yes, it will tickle at first when you just start using it but the brush actually ramps itself up over the first ten or so (forget the exact number) uses to allow you time to get accustomed to it. The tickle factor was only the first couple of uses and then it moved past that - but try to avoid hitting your teeth with the plastic part because you'll feel the vibrations right through your skull. The stains that were developing immediately began to disappear and my teeth looked much whiter and felt wonderfully clean in just a couple of weeks without any "extra whitening" toothpaste. The improvement was pure Sonicare. Other things I love about it is the fact that it indicates when it is time to switch quadrants. I found that not only am I spending the proper time brushing my teeth now (without overdoing it) but this feature also keeps me more mindful of HOW I'm brushing my teeth. The timer effortlessly helps you be more consistent in your brushing behavior. And the other big plus for me is the fact that years and years of abusing my teeth and gums with a manual toothbrush (using excessive pressure) has caused my gums to erode under some of my teeth. Manual and rotary toothbrushes would sometimes hit a vulnerable nerve and cause major pain. I feared that would happen with the Sonicare but for some reason the Elite has never caused me any discomfort. A single charge lasts many sessions and the unit simply drops into its charger as simple and sweet as you'd ever want. The head is compact and the neck is slender so it gets into the tighter areas with ease. My brushing sessions are now more consistent and pain-free and my teeth are noticeably whiter and they feel exceptionally clean. Money well spent, in my opinion!

Better Than A Manual Toothbrush! (Rating: 5.00)
Review : I bought my Sonicare Elite a couple of months ago & am very satisfied with the results. My teeth feel so clean & my gums are getting more pink. I have braces & I want to tell you that my Sonicare does not harm them in any way, infact I found it easier to brush with my Sonicare than the manual toothbrush I was using. By it you won't be disappointed!!

P.S. You can by the Sonicare Elite replacement heads at Amazon.com for only $19.99 (and that's for two) a lot cheaper than Wal*Mart which are roughly around $23.00!

Review : BUY THIS TOOTHBRUSH!!!!!
I used to use an oral-b 3d electric toothbrush, and I was never really ever satisfied with it. I think I could have cleaned my teeth better using a manual brush. Luckily, it broke the other day. When I went to get a replacement, I saw this toothbrush on sale. Since I never really liked my old one, I bought the sonicare. I've only had this thing a few days, but I LOVE IT! Every time I use it, my teeth feel so clean I'd swear I'd just left the dentist if I didn't know any better. I've been brushing my teeth 4 or 5 times a day since I got my sonicare just to get that super clean feeling. I love this thing so much I am buying one for my dad for father's day.
It is a little pricey, but it is worth every single penny!! BUY ONE NOW!!!!!!!
