It is "addicting" though! The 1st week we had it, my husband wanted to play every hour, literally! I love it too, but not THAT much. I still have a life to live outside of Scrabble. I've always loved words and learning new ones to sprinkle into conversation--I read dictionaries for fun as a child! Somehow I never got into Scrabble until now and I can see why it has lasted so long & become so popular it's almost cult-like. Anyone who loves to learn new words, show off the little-known words they do know, or just likes to have good fun with friends or family, will enjoy this game, perhaps more than any other in their game stack. It's definitely worth the money to get this version over the basic Scrabble board.

Review : I already reviewed normal scrabble, so this review is just about the Deluxe Edition. I got this as a gift and I appreciated how much easier it was to play because the board spins and the letters are secure.
A must when you are playing on the kitchen table in a crowed house. Worth the extra money in my opinion.

Review : I don't understand why this was released as a "deluxe" edition. This board is horrible. It is made of cheap plastic, nothing like you would think for $30. I was very, very, very disappointed in this. If you are looking for a good scrabble board, look somewhere else, because this is not the one. I have an old one that is great, but it is dirty and old, so i wanted somthing new. I am sorry I bought this. I guess it could be good as an occasional toy, but not for serious scrabble lovers.

Review : Scrabble - deluxe, electronic, regular and travel editions, has been a tradition in our family for three generations. Review : Our family enjoys playing scrabble so much so that we decided to buy the 'Deluxe' version to solve some of the common problems we have playing the game on a regular board.
Needless to say I was thoroughly disappointed at the cheap, flimsy, plastic board I received in the box. I have seen other 'Deluxe' brands which my friends and relatives had bought years ago and was shocked at what is now being sold, at over double the price of the regular version. The old one I had looks as if it will outlast the 'Deluxe'.
I reduced the fun rating by 2 stars simply because I hate looking at this board. Save your money and don't buy this one.

Review : You'll never go back to the flat, original version again! I am a big Scrabble fan, ever since I was a child, and this deluxe version is the best. The board holds your tiles neatly in place, and prevents them from sliding. The turntable-style board is great. No one has to read the letters upside-down or sideways. The base also provides storage for your letter racks, scorepads, etc. when not in use. This set even includes a bag for mixing up, and drawing your letter tiles, which can easily be passed around to the players. As an added extra, the plastic surface of the board proved to be a godsend when I accidentally spilled a glass of water! I just dried it off with a towel, and there were no problems at all. You'll love this set, and it would make a great gift, too.
