An Overall Disappointment (Rating: 2.00) Review : I ordered the SCHT 700 last August and was initially pleased with my purchase. I have since learned quite a bit about home audio and realize that I made a mistake in purchasing this unit. To begin with, the overall design is terrible. To incorporate some of the hardware in the subwoofer is neat, but a poor engineering choice. I had a problem with hum bars crawling up my screen with this unit (funny how no bars with my other dvd player. even tried moving the unit to another tv on another outlet and turned off all interfering electronics to no avail) I complained to Panasonic and they sent me a generic email back saying I should take it 120 miles away to an authorized repair center. In addition, the video quality wasn't great and the lack of a digital input made the unit "futureless." In the end I decided to just stick the poorly performing unit on my 19 inch tv and spend more money to get worthwhile equipment. I would not recommend purchasing this unit unless you are simply more marveled by having 5.1 channel sound than you are by a true surround sound experience. If you're on a budget, my advice is to save up and spend more because you get what you pay for. To the point! (Rating: 2.00) Review : Poor sound quality. After five months, tray has started sticking. I contacted Amazon, hoping not to get caught in the manufactures black hole of 'after a month its your problem' and was surprised that someone from some special unit(in amazon) would give me a call to work something out. NEVER HAPPENED!!!! STILL WAITING! great sound quality (Rating: 4.00) Review : I just got this system a week ago and i'm very happy with the sound quality. It is very loud and clear when you turn the volume up. But I do have a question if anyone knows the answer please let me know. I'm trying to hook up my cable system which is time warner to surround system, is this possible? Therefore if I am watching regular tv can I get my surround system to work? This is not a product rate (Rating: 5.00) Review : I want to buy this home theater system for my sister in Viet Nam for her wedding. So I want to know some of its technical data which weren't mentioned here. Could you (those who are using it) help me? - Does it accept 220V 50Hz? - Is it dvd region-free? - Does it play SVCD? - In Viet Nam, there are a lot of Chinese DVD's.
