Lancelot Carver (Rating: 4.00) Review : The quality of the carving that can be done with this tool is directly related to the quality of right angle grinder you purchase, and your proficiency with that grinder. I am building a log home and this tool is indispensible for log pockets, saddle notches, and tennons. I've had good luck with wildlife carvings in softwoods such as pine, hemlock, and cedar. Lancelot Arbor - An Excellent Tool! (Rating: 5.00) Review : For rapid wood removal these tools by King Arthur RULE ! I use them for burying cables within walls before sheet rocking in new construction. I just notch out the studs along the run in a matter of seconds versus minutes it takes to drill holes! I highly recommend these for any contractor, plumber, or electrician! Excellent idea there King Arthur! Well worth any price. Not quite what I had hoped for. (Rating: 1.00) Review : I purchased a Lancelot carving tool during the summer of 2000 to do some cedar carving. I was disapointed in the performance. I much prefer a small chainsaw for carving. Better control, better & faster stock removal, more versitile and I feel safer with the chainsaw. Probably because my hands are further away from the cutting action. If you don't own a chain saw, the Lancelot may be the tool for you. It is faster than hand carving. A log home MUST HAVE (Rating: 5.00) Review : This tool is a must have for anyone building a log home. Our builder had one and he used it in putting our house up. Now that we are finishing it, we have found it invaluable to: -carve out grooves for the window/door bucks -carve out grooves for wiring -carve out large areas of the logs for light switches. I really don't know how we would do this without the king arthur. It would easily take 3x as long with a chisel. This tool has allowed us to tackle many of the unusual challenges that come up with a log home. With each project, the king arthur has shown itself to be invaluable. Don't know how we would build this house without one. Our electrician had to get one once he saw ours!
