I got mine from my shower and have used it a lot. Not as big as it looks (Rating: 3.00) Review : The picture is fairly deceiving. It looks like you can fit 2 french loaves in the basket. If they were short, then you might be able to. I have found that it works well for breadsticks and rolls, but not loaves of bread. The basket material isn't very high quality, but it does its job. The cloth, though, is quite large and easily wraps around whatever you put in. Be Careful! (Rating: 4.00) Review : I love this basket but made one crucial mistake when using it for the first time. When I heated the stone in the microwave I had it in the napkin. Not a good idea, as the stone burnt a hole right through the cloth. And there is no way to replace the cloth other than buying a whole new basket. Now I have to wrap the stone in a separate cloth and the bread in another cloth instead of using the blue cloth that came with it. When my family has pasta for dinner I always serve fresh bread, but by my second piece it would always be cold. The stone is heated in the oven along with your bread, or in the microwave. The stone keeps bread warm and the basket will hold enough bread or rolls for about four people (more if you only eat one piece of bread apiece). I bought an additional one for when I have friends or family over. And if the red on the basket and napkin doesn't match your good china, just use a plain basket, wrap the stone in a cloth napkin that matches the ones you will use at each place setting, and cover the bread with another matching napkin. |
