Buy this and you will be disappointed (Rating: 1.00) Review : Never recorded videos. Terrible manual. Terrible piece of kit. So disappointed, I doubt I will ever buy a Phillips again. media files (Rating: 4.00) Review : I was wondering what type of media files this dvd/vcr plays as far as the dvd's. such as svcd vcd avi mpeg mpeg2 mpg and so on if you could e-mail me at chamele0n82@yahoo.com to let me know and how to make the diffrent file work thanks alot for you help Good product, but just good (Rating: 3.00) Review : Great for the home theatre lover on a budget, and/or those not wanting to spend money on two separate componets. However, there is no on-screen menu, and it is sometimes difficuly to switch between dvd and vcr mode. It is essentially two different componets with two different sets of controls in one box. Some Fun (Rating: 4.00) Review : I found this unit to have a very good picture quality in the VCR mode. In the DVD mode is not was as good as I thought it would be. It may be in the Quality of the DVD movies I tried. I do have it hooked up with the S-vidio cable to the TV. Hope to hear more form others that know more about this high-teck stuff. Thanks John Two thumbs down (Rating: 1.00) Review : I received this DVD/VCR combo as a gift less than a year ago. For a few months the combo set worked without a snag; however, about two months ago, the DVD component began to act up. At first, the player itself seemed temperamental - choosing to play some DVDs and not others. Soon afterwards, the player door would continuously open and close (with and without a DVD inside). The opening and closing of the door would happen even when I had not pushed the button for opening and closing! The machine seemed somewhat possessed - I could only stop the opening and closing of the door by unplugging the entire unit. Needless to say, I couldn't play any DVDs. I called Philips regarding this situation, and they have asked that I send in my player (at my own cost). They will provide me with a refurbished set valued at $80. So, basically, all the good money that went towards this unit has been wasted. Avoid wasting your money on this combo set. |
